Why do new items say “listed 5 mins ago” when I set 1-minute updates?
Trove alerts you within a minute of items going live on eBay. However, eBay listings often show a 3–5 minute delay from when the seller first posts to when the item becomes publically visible. That’s why the listing might already say “5 minutes ago.”
Will I still get alerts even if the app is closed?
Yes! Trove runs on cloud servers that continuously search for items on your behalf. As soon as a match is found, you’ll receive a push notification — even if the app is closed or your phone is in sleep mode.
I received a warning that my searches are paused—why did that happen?
We automatically pause background cloud searches after 5 days of inactivity. This helps us minimise server costs and resources for users who aren’t actively using the app and no longer require alerts.
How is this service free?
We earn a small commission from eBay when purchases are made through the app. This doesn’t affect the price you pay and allows us to offer Trove completely free to use.
Will Trove use up my phone’s battery or data?
Not at all. Trove runs in the cloud and sends you lightweight push notifications. It doesn’t constantly run on your device, so battery and data usage are minimal.
Can I get notifications faster than 1 minute?
If you’re interested in faster notifications, please contact us. This beta feature is only available to users who have already made purchases through the app.
Can I save or bookmark items I’m interested in?
Yes! You can mark items as favorites in the app so you can come back to them later.
Can I buy items directly on Trove?
Not at the moment. To protect your privacy, Trove doesn’t handle eBay login or payment details. For now, simply tap on the item to complete your purchase securely on eBay. Direct buying within the app may be added in the future.
Is Trove available outside the US?
Trove supports multiple eBay regions UK, AUS, EUR etc. Just make sure your country is selected in the app settings to see listings from your local eBay site.
What happens if I have a dispuit with a seller?
Trove is a tool that helps you discover new listings, but all purchases and seller interactions take place on eBay. If you have any issues with a transaction, you’ll need to resolve them directly through eBay’s support and dispute resolution system.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account and all associated data anytime in the app. To delete your account or data find the option at the bottom of the help and feedback screen.
Is Trove officially affiliated with eBay?
Trove is an independent app that uses eBay’s official developer and partner tools. While we’re approved to use eBay’s APIs and branding, we are not owned or operated by eBay.
